The transformation of the Santiago Bernabéu continues at a spectacular pace, cementing its place as a modern engineering marvel where architecture, technology, and entertainment converge. With much of the interior renovation already completed, the spotlight now turns to the stadium's exterior, which is undergoing a dramatic makeover.

The Bernabéu’s outer façade will soon become a vibrant and dynamic visual experience. Wrapped in an aluminum shell embedded with 10,000 RGB LED lights, the stadium will come alive through advanced video mapping technology, capable of projecting motion, color, and light across its surface. Each slat of this shell will feature two precisely positioned luminaires, turning the structure into a living canvas.

Before this lighting system can fully shine, workers are meticulously preparing the slats—cleaning and painting them throughout the summer—before installing the lights. The first tests have already begun, with initial luminaires fitted on the Castellana Tower and Concha Espina sides, signaling what’s to come. The Bernabéu is gearing up for its big nights in spectacular style.

Beyond its visual allure, the lighting serves a functional purpose as well. The exterior lights will act as a barrier, containing the interior illumination during night matches to enhance the visual drama visible from outside. At the same time, maintenance is underway on the retractable roof to install lighting on its trusses, further elevating the atmosphere.

Inside the stadium, a new feature is also taking shape: a second LED ring, being installed between the second and third tiers. Once complete, this ring will operate in harmony with the lower LED band and the 360° video scoreboard suspended from the roof. It will display dynamic graphics, light shows, and advertisements—amplifying the immersive experience for fans and redefining how live events are perceived.

This evolution of the Bernabéu is much more than a renovation—it’s the creation of a fully immersive venue where every detail contributes to a multi-sensory spectacle that extends far beyond the game itself.
