Real Madrid are enduring a difficult spell as the season draws to a close, with La Liga now virtually out of reach and no realistic hopes of a comeback. The club is already turning its attention to a rebuild after two consecutive campaigns without major trophies.
At the center of the debate are the team’s two biggest stars, Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr., both of whom have faced criticism from supporters throughout the season. Concerns are no longer limited to the stands, as doubts about their on-field partnership are also emerging within the club.
While Mbappé’s individual numbers remain strong, they have not translated into consistent results for the team. According to journalist Rodra on ESPN, there is a growing belief inside Real Madrid that the lack of chemistry between Mbappé and Vinicius is affecting overall performance. Some voices within the club even consider that one of the two may need to be sacrificed to resolve the issue.
However, this internal debate clashes with the stance of Florentino Pérez. The Real Madrid president is firmly against the idea of selling star players and remains confident that a successful project can be built with both Mbappé and Vinicius leading the team next season.
