During the assembly of Real Madrid held on Sunday, Florentino Pérez has assured that the New Bernabéu will be ready for next season: "The goal is for the works to be finished before next summer. The new Bernabéu will be one of the most attractive leisure centers in Europe, if not the best. It is one of the largest and most complex works and being able to hold the matches during these works has been a big challenge.
"Despite the reduction in supplies from Ukraine, the works continue to advance. The automation of the pitch will allow to organize other damage-free events on the grass. All thanks to a huge underground greenhouse, equivalent to a seven-story building. This required the extraction of earth equal to 30 Olympic-sized swimming pools," he says.
When explaining the project, the president did not hold back on the details: "As for the novelties, the next step will be to raise the beams of the retractable crown. One of the massive slats that will serve as the new stadium's skin has already been placed, signaling the start of construction on the impressive façade. The "museum beam" will be on the Castellana side, and the "new fourth amphitheater" will be on the eastern side.
"The operation of the new stadium was closed without financial limitations, or mortgage guarantees and the payment of the loan, of 538 million euros, will be made once the stadium is already built, from 2023-2024", Florentino confirmed.
