Florentino Pérez has officially renewed his mandate as president of Real Madrid for another four years after no other candidates presented themselves for the club’s presidential elections, which were called on January 8. With the deadline for submissions ending, Pérez was automatically re-elected, following the provisions outlined in the club’s Bylaws.

At 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, the club's Electoral Board formally announced Florentino Pérez’s re-election in accordance with the club's rules. The resolution reads: "As only one candidate has been presented by this Electoral Board and in accordance with article 40, section E, point 2 of the current Social Statutes of the Club, Mr. Florentino Pérez Rodríguez is hereby proclaimed president of Real Madrid." The new Board of Directors will include Pérez, four vice-presidents, a secretary, and 13 members.

This will be Pérez’s seventh term as president of the club. Next summer will mark 25 years since he first assumed leadership, with a brief three-year break between 2006 and 2009. Pérez initially won the presidency in 2000, defeating then-president Lorenzo Sanz. He secured his second term in 2004, again defeating Sanz and Arturo Baldasano. In the elections of 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2021, Pérez was automatically proclaimed president as no other candidates emerged.

Under his leadership, Pérez has modernized Real Madrid’s infrastructure, most notably through the construction of the Valdebebas sports city and the recent renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. During his presidency, Real Madrid has won 37 football titles and 28 basketball titles, cementing the club’s dominance in both sports.
