Florentino Pérez has been president of Real Madrid for 21 of the past 24 years, first taking office in 2000 before stepping down in 2006. He returned to the presidency in 2009 and has remained in charge ever since. Now 77 years old, Pérez reportedly has no plans to retire and intends to run again in the 2025 election, as reported by Sport.
Later this month, during Real Madrid's General Assembly, one key agenda item will be the proposal to elect members of the Electoral Board for the period between March 29, 2025, and March 28, 2029. It is during this event that Pérez is expected to officially announce his candidacy for re-election.
Under Pérez’s leadership, Real Madrid has solidified its position as a dominant force in European football. Given his track record, it would come as no surprise if he secured his seventh presidential term in the upcoming election.
