Florentino Pérez welcomed Pope Leo XIV to the Santiago Bernabéu, where the pontiff met with the diocesan community of Madrid during his visit to Spain.
As part of the occasion, the Real Madrid president presented Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost, with a personalized Real Madrid jersey featuring his first name and the number 1. He also gifted the pontiff a replica of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
In return, Pope Leo XIV presented Florentino Pérez with a commemorative medal, marking the exchange of gifts during the visit.
The meeting formed part of the Pope's schedule in Madrid and added another historic chapter to the Bernabéu's long tradition of hosting major religious, cultural, and sporting events.
