Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono are heading for a direct battle over a starting spot once Jude Bellingham returns from injury, according to Diario AS.
Bellingham, who underwent shoulder surgery earlier this summer, is expected to be back in action for Real Madrid in October.
In his absence, both Güler and Mastantuono have seized their chances under Xabi Alonso, contributing to Madrid’s impressive start to the campaign.
The Turkish playmaker has showcased his vision and flair in the No.10 role, already finding the net in La Liga. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mastantuono has adapted remarkably quickly to Spanish football, winning praise for his maturity and versatility.
Reports indicate that Alonso considers Bellingham untouchable in his preferred XI. However, choosing between Güler and Mastantuono to complement him will be one of the manager’s toughest selection dilemmas moving forward.
