According to journalist Carlos Sánchez Blas, Gaby Deck will not recover in time to participate in the Copa del Rey with Real Madrid. The Argentine player has been sidelined since the Liga Endesa clásico against Barcelona in late December, where he sustained a hamstring tendon rupture in his left hip after a heavy fall.
Initially, Deck's recovery was estimated to take 6-8 weeks. However, he has not made sufficient progress and will miss the trip to the Canary Islands for the tournament. This is a significant loss for coach Chus Mateo, who will likely have to wait until the end of February to have the Argentine back in action.
