As per recent information provided by Mario Cortegana, a journalist for The Athletic, Getafe would have initiated negotiations with Real Madrid in order to carry out Álvaro Rodríguez's transfer. In an attempt to get ahead of the other teams, the Azulones have already made contact with the Madrid board to initiate the signing process.

Real Sociedad, who must first sort out Sadiq's departure, and a number of Bundesliga teams are also interested in the Uruguayan striker; however, Getafe has made a potentially significant initial move.
