Gil Manzano is the referee designated to direct Saturday's el Clásico starting at 4:15 p.m. in Montjuïc.
He has supervised two Clásicos, which is unusual for him, as he is one of the most regarded referees in Spanish football. The first one took place in 2014 and was won by Real Madrid 3-1. The second was in 2021 and Manzano was not the first choice either, since Mateu Lahoz was initially selected. But an injury to the Valencian allowed him to take charge of the match, which took place at Valdebebas and resulted in a two goals to one white triumph.
