Bayer Leverkusen faces the risk of losing both star player Florian Wirtz and manager Xabi Alonso this summer, with top European clubs circling. Wirtz has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, while Alonso is also reportedly on Real Madrid’s radar.

TV pundit Didi Hamann believes it’s unlikely that either will stay with Leverkusen. "If they stay, it would surprise me," Hamann said on "Sky." He added, "I could imagine that if Wirtz stays, the coach might stay as well. It feels connected."

Alonso has been linked as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, with speculation that the Spanish giants may part ways with the Italian this summer.

Hamann thinks there’s a possibility Wirtz could follow Alonso to Madrid, saying, "Players like Wirtz belong at Real Madrid. I believe he will end up there sooner or later."

The former player also advised Wirtz against moves to Manchester City or Bayern Munich. "At City, there’s too much uncertainty with Guardiola’s future," he remarked. "No one knows what will happen after he leaves." As for Bayern, Hamann questioned the motive for a move: "He’s already won the Bundesliga. I don’t see a strong reason for him to go to Munich."

Wirtz is currently contracted with Leverkusen until 2027, although there are reports that he may extend the deal until 2028. Negotiations are said to be underway, but Wirtz has yet to make a decision on whether to sign.
