Dean Huijsen has officially been unveiled as a Real Madrid player. The Spanish center-back, formerly of Bournemouth, is already training under new head coach Xabi Alonso and is eligible to make his debut in the upcoming Club World Cup on June 18, when Madrid face Al-Hilal in Miami.
During his presentation, Huijsen expressed heartfelt emotion and passion for his new club. The towering defender reflected on his childhood admiration for Real Madrid, highlighting one unforgettable moment: “The first memory that stands out for me is the 2014 Champions League final, when Ramos scored in the final minute. I was only nine years old, and that moment was my first beautiful memory of this club,” he recalled.
Huijsen now begins the next chapter of his career with the club he calls his dream destination, with the goal of helping the team lift more silverware—starting with the Club World Cup.
