Romanian referee István Kovács will officiate the Champions League third-round clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. This will mark the third time Kovács, 40, oversees a Real Madrid match in Europe's top competition.
In previous encounters, Real Madrid had mixed results under his direction. They achieved a 2-5 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of the 2022-23 Champions League Round of 16 but suffered a 4-3 defeat to Manchester City in the first leg of the 2021-22 semi-finals.
