Eintracht Frankfurt conquered the Camp Nou with the help of tens of thousands of fans in the stands. The Germans defeated Barcelona (2-3) to earn a place among the Europa League's four semifinalists. And as the joy spreads through the neighborhoods, while some in Barcelona lamented their team's unexpected European elimination, others in Madrid celebrated the Germans' victory.
"Bravo. Promise fulfilled" was the comment left by Luka Modric on Kristijan Jakic's latest post on his Instagram profile, in which the Eintracht Frankfurt player celebrated reaching the Europa League semifinals. In said publication, accompanied by three images, the Croatian wrote: "This is Frankfurt's Eintracht. SEMIFINALS!!!! Special thanks to the fans who traveled, supported and believed in us!".
In an interview with Sportske Novosti, the midfielder of the German team, teammate of the Real Madrid player from the National team, revealed that he spoke with Luka Modric before the return match at the Camp Nou, "and at one point he told me 'You have to beat Barcelona!'" As a result, Jakic told Luka: "Captain, I promise you that we will win!" Later, the Eintracht Frankfurt player responded to his fellow countryman's comment on Instagram, saying, "The moment the game ended, I immediately thought of you. Thank you very much, captain."
