Javier Tebas is suspected of using money from La Liga clubs to pay for a report by members of Transparency International, a well-known anti-corruption Organization, according to a hard-hitting article published in the Spanish media outlet El Español.
Instead of providing an unbiased study, the firm had published a report on Real Madrid's objection to La Liga's TV rights contract with CVC, offering to support La Liga and criticizing Real Madrid.
El Español, along with attorneys from A25, who are also Transparency International partners, asserts that Tebas utilized the funds obtained from La Liga clubs to launch vicious attacks against Real Madrid.
One of the clubs that opposed the CVC deal was the Spanish giants, who referred to it as illegal and damaging to Spanish football's future.
Now that El Español has published this report on the alleged siphoning of funds to start a campaign to not only criticize Real Madrid but also to discredit the club, it appears that Tebas has become an issue for Spanish football.
As a result of Real Madrid's refusal to sign the CVC agreement, La Liga president Tebas previously threatened to withhold a percentage of the club's tv rights earnings, further escalating the rift between the club and La Liga.
