The latest name to surface in connection with Real Madrid is none other than Jonathan Tah. The German center-back is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen as a free agent in the coming weeks, and reports of his potential move to the Bernabéu are gaining momentum.
Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg was the first to confirm Real Madrid’s interest, and shortly after, The Athletic echoed the possibility, stating that Tah has a strong chance of following Xabi Alonso to Madrid. The two have worked together successfully in the Bundesliga, and should Alonso take charge at Real Madrid, Tah could join him—at no cost.
While Florentino Pérez continues to focus on more high-profile targets like William Saliba and Ibrahima Konaté for future transfer windows, Jonathan Tah’s availability as a free agent makes him a very realistic and strategic short-term addition to the defense.
