José Mourinho has reportedly finalized his plans for the left-back position as he continues shaping his first Real Madrid squad for the 2026-27 season.
According to recent reports, Marc Cucurella is expected to be the club's first-choice left-back, with Álvaro Carreras serving as his primary backup.
Fran García has already completed his move to Real Betis, while Ferland Mendy continues to recover from injury. The French defender is not currently part of Mourinho's immediate plans and is working toward a return to full fitness.
The report adds that Real Madrid remain uncertain about Mendy's long-term future because of his recurring injury problems.
The club's strategy is aimed at providing both immediate quality and long-term stability in a position that has been heavily affected by injuries and inconsistency in recent seasons.
