Juan Núñez, the great jewel of the Real Madrid academy and one of the great promises of Spanish basketball, has said goodbye to Los Blancos after signing for Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany.
"I want to use these lines to thank the people with whom I have shared at Real Madrid all these years of personal and sporting growth, I have a special affection for you. Thanks to all those who have helped and accompanied me, in these seven years. I have met great people and professionals from the academy to the Club's first team," shared Juan Núñez with his more than 17,700 followers on Instagram.
On his future, the talented 18-year-old left-handed point guard wrote that "I am convinced that our paths will cross again at some point in the future. In the meantime I wish you the best of luck."
Carlos Alocén , already a former teammate of Núñez at Real Madrid, replied "all the best Juanito" to the young point guard's message. "Good luck Juanito!" Felipe Reyes replied. Former teammates like Sergio Llull, Usman Garuba or Tristan Vukcevic also interacted with the message of the new Ratiopharm Ulm player.
Juan Núñez, who was the MVP of the U20 European Championship at the age of just 18, made his international basketball debut for Spain in their 87-80 victory over the Greek team of the Antetokounmpo brothers.
In 24 games for Real Madrid in the Endesa League, Juan Núñez (1.91 m) has averaged 1.1 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in a total of 06:26 minutes played.
