Julián Álvarez faces significant competition at Manchester City. Haaland has relegated him to a substitute role, prompting the Argentine to consider leaving the English club. Nevertheless, sources in England emphasize that a move this summer is unlikely due to Real Madrid's current abundance of forwards: Vinicius, Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappé, Endrick, Joselu, Brahim, and Arda Guler all hold positions that won't change in the short term.

"I'm calm, I feel good, and I'm happy at Manchester City. We'll see what happens," Álvarez has said. For now, reports indicate that the striker will make a decision after the Copa América.

Any potential transfer won’t come cheap. Last March, Manchester City extended Álvarez's contract by another year, initially signed until 2027. Currently, the situation is at a standstill, though Álvarez hasn’t ruled out a career change, with Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid as his preferred destination.
