On Friday, Toni Kroos revealed that he personally talked with three of his Real Madrid teammates, prior to announcing publicly his retirement from football.

Speaking on his personal podcast, Einfach mal Luppen, the German midfielder admitted that, because of his strong relationship with the trio, he felt it was only right to make contact with all of Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, and Lucas Vázquez, to explain his retirement decision.

Toni will play his last game at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday against Real Betis. His last game with Los Blancos will be in the grand final of the Champions League on June 1 against Borussia Dortmund.
