Víctor Muñoz's move to Liverpool is now official, bringing an end to a remarkable rise that has seen the winger emerge as one of Spain's most promising young talents.

The former Real Madrid academy product enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Osasuna, earning widespread recognition for his performances. His impressive season not only secured him a place in Spain's World Cup squad but also attracted interest from several major clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, and Liverpool.

Newcastle appeared to be the favorites to sign the winger as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon. However, Liverpool ultimately won the race and completed the transfer.

The deal also provides a financial boost for Real Madrid. Thanks to clauses included when Muñoz joined Osasuna, the club will receive approximately €20 million from the €40 million transfer fee paid by Liverpool.

While Real Madrid have benefited financially, the transfer effectively ends any possibility of bringing the player back through the buy-back option that previously existed in his Osasuna contract.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool's signing of Muñoz automatically cancels that clause. However, Real Madrid have retained an important advantage for the future. The club now holds a right of first refusal, meaning they will have priority in negotiations should Liverpool decide to sell the player in the coming years.

As a result, Real Madrid would have the opportunity to match any offer submitted by another club and potentially bring their former academy graduate back to the Santiago Bernabéu in the future.
