Lucas Vázquez came off the bench in the second half at the Emirates Stadium and spoke candidly after Real Madrid’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal. Reflecting on the performance, he admitted, “We weren’t good. Arsenal had a great game, creating chances and pressing high, and we couldn’t find our rhythm. We had a few isolated moments in their half, but we lacked long possessions that could have pushed them back. That’s what made the difference.”

He acknowledged that the second half didn’t bring the needed response, noting the team’s lack of continuity and limited control of the ball. “We didn’t take a step forward. We didn’t play well,” he stated bluntly.

Despite the difficult result, Vázquez remained optimistic about the second leg. “It’s a tough situation, but if there’s one team in the world that can turn this around, it’s us—with our fans and in our stadium. Wednesday will be a different game, and together we’ll get through it.”

Looking ahead to the decisive clash at the Bernabéu, he added, “We’re not used to back-to-back defeats. Now it’s all about hard work and believing in ourselves more than ever. The team deserves everyone’s trust. We’re going to give everything to turn this tie around.”
