Luis Llopis said goodbye to Real Madrid on Sunday after ending his time as the club’s goalkeeping coach following José Mourinho’s return. The arrival of Nuno Santos, a trusted member of the Portuguese manager’s staff, has brought Llopis’ eight-year spell at the club to an end, divided into two periods from 2015 to 2018 and from 2021 to 2026.
"Incredible to experience it and feel it." With that message, Llopis concluded his time at Real Madrid.
The goalkeeping coach joined the club in 2015 under Rafa Benítez, before remaining on the coaching staff when Zinedine Zidane took charge. He left alongside the Frenchman in 2018 after helping Real Madrid win three consecutive Champions League titles.
Llopis returned to the club three years later, in 2021, alongside Carlo Ancelotti. During his second spell, he was part of the staff that helped Real Madrid win two more European Cups.
