The Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has dismissed the appeal filed by Real Madrid and the Madrid City Council regarding the suspension of construction works near the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The ruling confirms order number 221 from September 25, 2024, which halted the execution of two parking facilities and a tunnel planned in the stadium’s surrounding area. The court maintained that the suspension should remain in place while the legal process continues.

Despite the setback, Real Madrid remains confident that a solution can still be found to allow the project to move forward. The club and the City Council also retain the option to challenge the decision, as the ruling can still be appealed within 30 days before the same chamber.

The works had originally been authorized by the City Council in March 2023, but the permit was later annulled following a lawsuit filed by the Asociación Vecinal de Perjudicados por el Bernabéu. The group argued that the project lacked sufficient public interest.

Under the initial plan, Madrid would have obtained a 40-year concession to operate the two parking lots, which were to be built in the areas of Paseo de la Castellana–Bernabéu and Padre Damián.

In its earlier ruling, the judge explained that suspending the works was necessary to avoid a situation in which the project would be fully completed before the final judicial decision. If the final outcome were unfavorable to the City Council and the club, the entire construction would potentially have to be reversed.
