However, Irene Junquera revealed on El Desmarque de Cuatro that a major development could drastically change the situation, making Real Madrid Zubimendi's preferred destination. "There's been a lot of talk about Rodri, but if there's one player set to join Real Madrid, I can tell you, and with all due respect to Real Sociedad, it’s Martín Zubimendi. He's almost certain to play for Madrid next year," Junquera said.
