After Real Madrid won the league title on Saturday, Mateu Lahoz revealed a new controversy by the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), which affected him personally and which had the merengue team as the protagonist.

The former referee revealed in the 'Tiempo de Juego' program on Cadena Cope that the CTA approved that the referee team join the Barcelona and Betis corridor for the victory of the green and white in the 2022 Copa del Rey, but they sanctioned him for doing the same before the Cádiz-Real Madrid after the whites won La Liga.

"First, we refereed the Betis-Barça match in which Betis had just won the Copa del Rey final, and the CTA allowed us to make a corridor in which Xavi also participated. It was nice, and the Technical Committee of Referees didn't care. However, a few weeks later we did it to Real Madrid as league champion in Cádiz and they sent me to the refrigerator," said Mateu Lahoz, who later stressed: "The CTA liked that we made the hallway for Betis, but it didn't sit well that a few weeks later we did it to Real Madrid as league champions."

A new controversy and a comparative grievance from the referee committee toward the white team demonstrate that the referees do not treat the Madridistas equally.
