Real Madrid kept up their push for the La Liga title with a hard-earned away victory at the Estadio de la Cerámica, sealing their fifth consecutive league win. Kylian Mbappé was decisive once again, scoring twice to take his season tally to 34 goals and stay at the top of the scoring charts.
The French forward opened the scoring early in the second half with a clever finish and wrapped up the win in stoppage time by converting a penalty that he had earned himself. Álvaro Arbeloa’s side showed patience and defensive solidity throughout, doing the necessary work to secure three important points against Villarreal.
