Kylian Mbappé faces Portugal, but all eyes are on his duel with Cristiano Ronaldo. Many see Mbappé as Ronaldo's successor at Real Madrid, though Mbappé insists he doesn't see himself continuing the Portuguese star's legacy. Instead, he aims to create his own story at the white club.

"It's an honor to play against him. Everyone knows the admiration I've always felt for him. Over time, I've had the chance to get to know him, and we're still in touch; he gives me advice. Once again, it's an honor. No matter what happened before or what happens after, he will remain a football legend. You have to appreciate what he was and what he is," said the world champion.

Mbappé looks at his idol with pure admiration: "I have never felt envy; I just want to admire the greatness of a unique player. There will not be two like him. He made history, inspired generations, his CV speaks for itself, and he reinvented himself. Respect for him, but I hope that tomorrow he is not so happy and that we reach the semi-finals."

The French striker is already thinking about the upcoming season: "I just want to continue on my path. I'm lucky to have the opportunity to live my dream by playing for Real Madrid. But I'm not going there to write the rest of Cristiano's story. What he has done there is unique. I also hope to do something unique at Madrid, but it will be completely different."
