After a day of stabilization, Kylian Mbappé began working on the recovery of his left knee on Monday. The French forward is progressing well at Valdebebas and is fully aware that he has avoided surgery.

The injury sustained while on international duty has ultimately been diagnosed as a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee, with a recovery period of 10 to 12 days. However, it came close to becoming a much more serious problem.

Mbappé stopped playing after feeling pain immediately after scoring in Friday's Turkey-France match, a decision that proved decisive. Tests showed that continuing to play could have put him at significant risk of suffering a serious injury that could have ruled him out for a large part of the season.

Real Madrid remained in direct and immediate contact with the French Football Federation's medical staff throughout the process and even feared that surgery might be necessary. Ultimately, it was confirmed that an operation would not be required.

The news has provided relief at the club, although Real Madrid will continue to take a cautious approach with their French star during his recovery.
