This marked Mbappé's second consecutive missed penalty, following a similar miss against Liverpool at Anfield. Despite the setback, the French forward did not shy away from responsibility, sharing a message on social media where he acknowledged his error and expressed determination to bounce back.
"Bad result. A big mistake in a match where every detail counts. I take full responsibility for it. A difficult moment, but it's the best time to change this situation and show who I am," Mbappé wrote.
