Kylian Mbappé has gone on holiday following his grand presentation at the Santiago Bernabéu. Both the player and the club have prioritized his rest after a long season, setting his return date for August 7.
The good news from Real Madrid's medical team is that surgery has been ruled out for the broken nose he sustained during the European Championship in Germany. Unless future tests indicate otherwise, which seems unlikely, Mbappé will train with his teammates at Valdebebas without the need for a mask or surgery. However, this is not entirely guaranteed and will depend on the condition of his nasal septum when he returns from vacation.
Given this return date, Mbappé is expected to miss the United States tour starting on July 28, where Real Madrid will play three friendlies: against Milan on the 31st, Barcelona on August 3, and Chelsea on August 6.
Real Madrid is focused on ensuring Mbappé has a proper pre-season rest. There is concern about the demanding upcoming schedule, acknowledging that players are not machines. With the new Club World Cup format, a Real Madrid player could finish the season as late as July 13, in addition to national team commitments. With seven titles at stake, the club does not want to rush Mbappé's return for the U.S. tour, recognizing the potential long-term risks.
Mbappé has deferred to the club regarding his participation in the tour and his readiness for the first official match of the season, the European Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14. While he is likely to be available for the match, he will have only had a week of training, leaving the final decision to Ancelotti.
