At the recent Euro, Lunin struggled, making two errors in the first match against Romania, which led to Trubin being chosen for the games against Slovakia and Belgium. After Ukraine's elimination, Lunin is now enjoying his holidays while awaiting clarity on his future with Real Madrid.

Jorge Mendes, Lunin's agent, is set to meet with Real Madrid this week to discuss his client's future. Lunin's contract expires next summer, and he, along with Mendes, does not rule out a possible exit from Chamartín this summer. Lunin's ambition is clear: he wants continuity and a starting role, which is challenging if he remains at Real Madrid. Conversely, the club intends to renew his contract, positioning him as Courtois' backup should another unforeseen event occur.

Additionally, Mendes will present potential replacement options for Real Madrid if Lunin departs. One candidate is Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa from Porto. After an impressive Euro Cup performance, including saving three consecutive penalties in a shootout against Slovenia in the round of 16, Costa has attracted interest from top European clubs. Costa has a contract until 2027 with a release clause of 75 million euros, and given Porto's financial issues, the club is unlikely to accept a lower offer.
