Mesonero made his official first-team debut for Real Madrid during the emphatic win over Monaco at the Bernabéu. The academy graduate entered the match in the 83rd minute, replacing Valverde, and took his first steps with the senior side on a Champions League night.
After the match, he shared his emotions with Realmadrid TV. “I'm very happy, it's a dream. Every youngster dreams of making their debut with the first team, especially in the Champions League, so I'm very happy.”
He also reflected on his brief appearance and the emotions that came with it. “We have to keep working. I was a little nervous, but I was really looking forward to enjoying myself and playing football, which is what I love.”
The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid in 2019, initially playing for the Cadete B team. Since then, he has progressed through every youth category, eventually reaching Real Madrid C. This season, he has also featured regularly for Castilla, making eleven appearances.
