After Thibaut Courtois's operation... it was Éder Militao's turn. The Brazilian central defender underwent successful surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he suffered in the first LaLiga game against Athletic (0-2) in San Mamés.
The operation was carried out by doctor Manuel Leyes, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services.
The doctor who carried out the operation was the same one who operated on Marco Asensio four years ago when he suffered an injury identical to that of Courtois and Militao during the preseason. As confirmed by the white club in a statement, the operation was carried out successfully and the footballer "will begin his recovery process in the next few days", once the inflammation subsides after the operation.
He is likely to be out for around eight months, and in the best-case scenario, he might only return for the last few weeks of the recently started season.
