According to Fabrizio Romano, "Luka Modric received one of the biggest salary proposals in football from Saudi."
"Modric decided to turn down the offer with the utmost respect. There's only one reason: he wants to play, fight and win again at the club of his life Real Madrid."
While the amount offered to Modric is unknown, rumors suggest it may have been around €150 million annually.
Despite turning 38 in September, Modric continues to give 100% effort in every other game.
In addition to his seven World Cup games, the legendary Croatian played 52 games for Real Madrid last season. He did so while tallying six goals and just as many assists.
