According to reports, Luka Modric has made the decision to complete his career at Real Madrid at the end of the 2023–2024 campaign. The Croatian midfielder will depart as a legend, having won five Champions League and three La Liga crowns at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

As he confirmed previously, Modric is not happy about not getting more playing time in the Spanish capital, even if Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that he is still an important member of the team.

Modric turned down a summer offer from the Saudi Pro League because he desired to spend one more season at Real Madrid, but things have since changed.

Diario Sport reports that Modric would not pursue a transfer in January since Ancelotti is already worried about the escalating injury crisis in his team.

His experience will be vital from now on, due to the lengthy absences of key midfielders as a result of the latest unfortunate injuries.
