Luka Modric became the oldest player to ever appear in an official match for Real Madrid during the team's victory against Celta de Vigo. At 39 years and 40 days old, Modric surpassed the previous record held by the legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskás, who played his final game for Real Madrid in 1966 at 39 years and 36 days.

Reflecting on the achievement, Modric shared his thoughts with Realmadrid TV: "I don’t like being reminded about my age, but it’s really impressive. I’m very proud to have achieved this record and to continue playing for the best club in the world."

When asked what he was most proud of during his time with Real Madrid, Modric found it difficult to single out just one moment: "It is very difficult for me to choose just one thing out of all the things that have happened to me at Real Madrid: signing for the club, winning Champions Leagues and La Ligas, and now being the longest-serving player with the most titles... I am happy to have achieved everything with this club, but I have to keep going."

In terms of his current form, Modric emphasized his readiness and the importance of always contributing: "I feel good physically and mentally. I am playing and that is what I want. The most important thing is the team, and, when it is my turn, I always try to give my best. We have very difficult weeks ahead in La Liga and the Champions League. We have a lot of quality, but that alone is not enough. We have to give more, like today, when we gave everything."

Since joining the club in 2012, Modric has cemented his legacy as the most decorated player in Real Madrid’s history. Over his 547 appearances, he has won an astonishing 27 trophies, including 6 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Reys, and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
