Luka Modric visited Marijana Kovacevic in the Serbian capital. The doctor from Belgrade is referred to as the "miracle doctor" because of her extraordinary success in cutting down on elite athletes' recovery times. Earlier this year, just weeks before the Australian Open, she worked her magic on tennis star Novak Djokovic. The Real Madrid player visited the doctor in Belgrade this past weekend, according to the Serbian sports outlet Sportklub. The Croatian hopes to be fit even for the Copa del Rey final in Seville on May 6th.
Currently, Modric is expected to miss the Spanish Cup final on next Saturday due to hamstring injuries he sustained at Montilivi in his left leg. Although there is optimism within the team, Ancelotti admitted in Friday's press conference that he is preparing for the final without Modric.
Since a Grade I or II hamstring tear typically takes two to three weeks to heal, Modric would not only miss the Copa del Rey final but also the first leg of Real Madrid's Champions League semifinal against Manchester City at the Bernabeu.
According to reports, Dr. Kovacevic's secret involves a cream made from placenta that promotes the repair of torn muscle tissue. Then, while the skin is still intact, a flow of high frequency electricity is applied to the damaged tissue during an electro-magnetic process.
