LaLiga held a meeting with the league's coaches on Tuesday, September 22, as part of an initiative aimed at providing information about regulations and other related matters.

Real Madrid were reportedly unhappy with the meeting because no representatives from the refereeing body were expected to attend, meaning clubs would not have the opportunity to directly raise their concerns or proposals with those responsible for refereeing.

According to AS, José Mourinho was among the coaches questioned over his expected attendance. The Portuguese manager ultimately did not appear at the facilities of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

Despite the dissatisfaction at Valdebebas with Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias' refereeing during the Madrid derby, reports indicate that this was not the reason for Mourinho's absence. The Real Madrid coach had reportedly informed the organisers beforehand that he would not attend due to personal reasons.

Mourinho was not the only coach absent from the meeting. Villarreal manager Íñigo Pérez, Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini and Getafe manager José Bordalás also reportedly did not attend. There is currently no conclusive information regarding the reasons for their absences.

The meeting comes amid increasingly strained relations between Real Madrid and LaLiga, with the club having intensified its complaints over refereeing decisions in recent years, particularly since the emergence of the Negreira case.
