According to journalist Sacha Tavolieir, Real Madrid and José Mourinho have already reached a full agreement for the Portuguese coach to become the successor to Álvaro Arbeloa.

The report also claims that the official announcement of Mourinho’s return could arrive as early as next week.

Since Real Madrid’s Champions League elimination against Bayern Munich, Arbeloa’s future has reportedly been considered increasingly uncertain, triggering speculation about possible replacements.

Several high-profile names were linked with the Santiago Bernabéu job over recent weeks. Jürgen Klopp was initially viewed by many as a favorite, although reports suggest negotiations never truly advanced. Other managers connected with the position included Massimiliano Allegri, Mauricio Pochettino, Lionel Scaloni, Didier Deschamps, and Julian Nagelsmann.

However, unless there is a dramatic change in the coming days, Mourinho now appears to be the chosen candidate to lead Real Madrid into next season.
