José Mourinho gave an interview to Josep Pedrerol for El Chiringuito, where he discussed several topics surrounding Real Madrid. Among them was Arda Güler, with the Portuguese manager openly praising the young midfielder’s talent and predicting that his development could follow a path similar to Luka Modric’s.

Asked by Pedrerol whether he sees Güler playing a leading role this season, Mourinho replied:

"I love Arda. I think Arda will go through something similar to what happened with Luka, in that he starts as an attacking number 10 and ends up as an 8 or a 6. I think that's the evolution he's going to have."

Mourinho believes Güler still has significant room for development and expects his role on the pitch to evolve over time. The Portuguese coach pointed to Modric as an example, with the Croatian eventually moving from a more advanced position into a deeper midfield role and becoming one of the greatest midfielders in Real Madrid’s history.
