Real Madrid's summer transfer activity is not yet complete. After making several key signings, the club is still considering further reinforcements in midfield following the Rodri saga, as well as in defense. The back line has been José Mourinho's main priority, as demonstrated by the three quick moves made at the beginning of the transfer window.

Despite already adding three quality players to the defense, Mourinho still wants another center-back to complete the position. However, Real Madrid currently have a large squad, meaning another player must leave before a new signing can arrive. That player would reportedly be Raúl Asencio.

The main obstacle is that the academy graduate is unwilling to leave and has yet to find a destination that appeals to him. In this context, Látigo Serrano reports that Mourinho is insisting on the signing of a left-footed center-back, with Alessandro Bastoni considered the preferred option.

Mourinho believes Bastoni could make Real Madrid's defense more solid and give the team greater balance. The Italian's profile is particularly attractive to the Portuguese coach, who sees him as the final piece needed to complete his defensive options.

For now, however, Real Madrid must first find a solution for Asencio before they can seriously pursue Bastoni. The Italian defender's transfer fee is expected to be around €60 million.

Once the situation in defense is resolved, the club will also have to make a final decision regarding the midfield. With those two issues still pending, Real Madrid's summer transfer window is not quite finished yet.
