José Mourinho has named his squad for Real Madrid's third preseason friendly against Fiorentina in Austria, with one notable omission drawing particular attention: Franco Mastantuono.

The Argentine midfielder has been left out alongside Dean Huijsen, who is recovering from injury, and Antonio Rüdiger, who is still building match fitness. According to sources within Real Madrid, Mastantuono's absence is "obvious" as he remains in Madrid while the club finalizes an imminent loan move.

The destination has yet to be decided, although the 19-year-old has attracted interest from several European clubs. In Italy, Fiorentina, Roma, and AC Milan have all been linked with the youngster, while in England, Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa is reportedly eager to bring his former player to Craven Cottage.

A return to River Plate had also been mentioned in recent weeks, but both the player and Real Madrid have ruled out that possibility. The club believes Mastantuono's development depends on continuing his career in European football as he adapts to the highest level and builds on the promise that prompted his move to Madrid last year.
