José Mourinho is already reportedly preparing his plans for Real Madrid ahead of next season, despite his return to the club still awaiting official confirmation and dependent on the re-election of Florentino Pérez.
According to Esdiario, Mourinho has requested seven signings to reshape the squad: two center-backs, a left-back, a right-back, two midfielders, and a center-forward.
The report states that the Portuguese coach believes defensive reinforcements are essential due to injuries, contract situations, and the need for greater balance across the back line.
In midfield, Mourinho has reportedly identified João Gomes as one of his preferred options. The Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder is valued at around €35-40 million following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Another midfielder linked with the project is Mateus Fernandes of West Ham United. The 21-year-old is reportedly valued at around €55 million and is viewed as a player with qualities similar to Federico Valverde.
The final priority would reportedly be the signing of a traditional number nine capable of offering a strong physical presence in attack.
If completed, the reported transfer plans would represent a major overhaul of the squad after two consecutive seasons without major trophies, with Mourinho seeking to rebuild the team around intensity, defensive solidity, and tactical discipline.
