Josep Pedrerol asked José Mourinho directly whether Real Madrid still had any plans to sign another player and whether the club had contacted Rodri. The Portuguese manager made his position clear.

"For me, the transfer window is closed. I don't lack Rodri. We have solutions, we have quality, and I have the ability to improve players so they become different players."

Mourinho also confirmed that Real Madrid had made an offer for the Spanish midfielder.

"Real Madrid made a very good offer to Rodri," explained the Portuguese coach, confirming that the club had indeed pursued the player and presented him with a significant proposal.

Mourinho then explained why the move did not happen.

"Rodri has had doubts, and those doubts have created doubts for me. He's an extraordinary player, but Real Madrid can't have players who think twice about it," said the Portuguese coach, making it clear that the club only wants players who have no hesitation about wearing the white shirt.
