Jude Bellingham was left stunned as Munuera Montero showed him a straight red card following a brief exchange on the pitch in the 38th minute of the match. The English midfielder was bewildered by the referee’s decision, and his Real Madrid teammates, equally shocked by the card, quickly gathered to try and make sense of the situation. Movistar+ cameras captured the entire sequence of events, revealing what led to the decision that shaped the course of the match.

The footage leaves little room for misinterpretation. After a previous foul on Vinicius led to a dangerous free kick for Osasuna, Bellingham, frustrated with the referee’s call, reportedly said, "I'm speaking to you with respect, f*ck off." Munuera Montero, however, interpreted the situation differently, claiming Bellingham directly insulted him.

Vinicius and Mbappé were the first to approach the referee in an attempt to resolve the confusion. Montero then called Luka Modric over, asking the rest of the Real Madrid players to step back, and explained the incident to the captain: "He said to me, 'f*ck you!'" The referee clarified that Bellingham's words were aimed directly at him, contrary to the player's claims.

In his official report, Montero noted: "In the 40th minute, Bellingham was sent off for addressing me, while just a few metres away, with the following words: 'F*ck you.'" This contradicted Bellingham’s version, who had maintained he did not intend the phrase as an insult toward the referee.
