In an interview with RTVE, Nacho Fernández stated that he will remain at Real Madrid for at least another season.
Nacho was one of several players whose contracts to expire on June 30. He announced that he would stay with the white club for one more year, till June 30, 2024, bringing him one step closer to the potential of finishing his career as a "one club man."
"There are always offers, but I have made the decision to remain for another year. It makes me happy, and I am eager to continue," Nacho made a statement today on RTVE from the Spanish team's camp.
Nacho, 33, made his debut with the Madrid first team under José Mourinho in the 2009–10 campaign. He spent 12 seasons at the Bernabéu, where he began in 2001 as a juvenile.
Since then, Nacho has advanced through all levels of the Madrid academy before becoming a member of the first team, with whom he has played 319 games and obtained an impressive resume, among which stand out his five European Cup victories.
