Ibrahima Konaté (Paris, 1999) is now a Real Madrid player. The French centre-back has joined the Spanish club on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool expired, signing a four-year deal with the Santiago Bernabéu side.
He becomes the second player to move from Anfield to Madrid in two years, following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer last summer.
With Konaté’s arrival, José Mourinho strengthens the defensive line with a tall and experienced centre-back standing at 194 cm. The French international brings extensive top-level experience, having made 118 Premier League appearances and 36 Champions League appearances, along with close to 30 caps for France.
