Luka Modric is staying at Real Madrid and will play for the club at 39 years old. The club has officially announced the Croatian's contract renewal, ensuring that the team avoids the painful double farewell of the midfield duo that has dominated for the past decade, following Toni Kroos' retirement.

Modric has renewed for another year, extending his Real Madrid career until June 2025. This will mark his thirteenth season with the club, having joined in the summer of 2012 under the guidance of José Mourinho.
