Spain made history on Sunday by winning the women's World Cup for the first time in their history.
Olga Carmona has unquestionably played a significant role in this World Cup. The left-back of Real Madrid scored the winning goal in extra time against Sweden in the semifinals, and she did it again against England in the final: "We suffered a lot. We knew it was going to be difficult. England have a great team. We had the vibe that we were going to achieve it. I have no words", the Sevillian said to TVE.
"In the end it's a moment you dream of, but literally. When you go to bed and dream of something that can happen to you in life, it's with this moment. But I never expected to score the decisive goal of this World Cup before tournament. Very happy once again, I think the team deserved it. Football has been fair to us. We have won the trophy and it is for Spain", Olga added.
In the celebration of her goal, Olga Carmona showed a message written on her undershirt. After the final whistle, she explained the background of it: "It goes to the mother of one of my best friends, who recently passed away. It's dedicated to the whole family."
